Since the summer of 2023, Russia and Algeria enjoy a "deep strategic partnership," as stipulated by a declaration signed by the two parties.
Russian deputy foreign minister and Algeria's foreign minister have discussed the development of strategic partnership between the two nations. Mikhail Bogdanov and Ahmed Attaf also talked about situation in the Middle East and North Africa with a focus on the problems of the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
"During the conversation, the main attention was paid to topical issues of further development of relations of deep strategic partnership between Russia and Algeria. Moreover, the parties higlighted a high level of political dialogue and coordination between Moscow and Algeria in various multilateral formats, including in the UN Security Council, in within the framework of OPEC Plus and the Gas Exporting Countries Forum," the Russian foreign ministry informed.
