Glavkosmos is a subsidiary of the Russian state space corporation, Roscosmos, which "promotes the achievements of the Russian rocket and space industry in the world markets and manages complex international projects." Over 140 international contracts were successfully completed by the company.

The head of Glavkosmos told the participants of the NewsSpace conference, taking place in Angola's capital, Luanda, about the opportunities for African countries arising from the development of cooperation with Russia in the field of space exploration.
"The solutions proposed by Glavkosmos based on the results of space activities will not only reduce poverty but also improve the quality of life of the population of African countries," Ilya Tarasenko said.

Over 500 delegates from 46 countries worldwide gathered in Luanda to take part in the conference, which is held on April 2-5.
