The Atomexpo Forum has been held in Russia since 2009, and its participants include heads of key companies in the global nuclear industry, government agencies, international and public organizations, and leading experts.
The Atomexpo 2024 International Forum, held on March 25-26 in the Russian federal district of Sirius, was an opportunity for attendees to engage in productive conversations about the future of nuclear power and the prospects for cooperation in this field, which caught the attention of our AI-powered host, Joy.
The event brought together senior officials from 75 countries, including Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Iraq, who were attending Atomexpo for the first time. The forum set a record for the number of participating countries, said Alexey Likhachev, director general of the Russian state corporation Rosatom.
Following the forum, the Russian corporation signed roadmaps for the development of nuclear energy cooperation with Mali, Burkina Faso, and Algeria. Another African country, Burundi, is currently awaiting a roadmap to accelerate work on a nuclear power plant project with Rosatom that will launch the country into industrial production.
In addition, the order portfolio of Rosatom for floating nuclear power plants has also grown by about 15 more units after the Atomexpo-2024, Likhachev revealed.
