On Friday night, a terrorist attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall music venue in Krasnogorsk, a city located just outside of Moscow. A Sputnik correspondent who witnessed the attack said that at least three men in camouflage broke into the music hall, started shooting people point-blank and throwing incendiary bombs.
Residents of the capital Kinshasa have been coming to the Russian Embassy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since the morning to honor the victims of Friday's Crocus City Hall terrorist attack, the embassy said.
"Indifferent Congolese with Russian flags lay flowers in front of the diplomatic mission building, speak words of support to the Russian people, express sincere condolences to the families of the victims," the embassy said.
The embassy added that it was deeply grieving with the families and friends of the victims of the tragedy and said the Russian flag had been lowered on the embassy grounds as a sign of mourning.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who did not stand aside and shared with us the pain of this terrible event," the statement added.
The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo earlier "strongly condemned" the terrorist attack and "expressed its solidarity with the authorities and the brotherly people of Russia."
