Last March, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, a general and the eldest son of Uganda's incumbent President Yoweri Museveni, announced his retirement from the national army. Earlier, he wrote on X that he intended to run for presidency in 2026. These posts, however, were then deleted.
Yoweri Museveni, the President of
Uganda, appointed his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the chief of the defense forces.
