Ramadan in Libya: 'City Nights' Festival Kicks Off in Capital City of Tripoli

This year, March 10 to April 9 marks the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Muslim calendar. During this period, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and intimacy during the day.
The "City Nights" festival began in Libya's capital city of Tripoli.
Its main mission is to unite the rich historical heritage and modernity. According to the authors' idea, the public will be able to see museum artifacts, get acquainted with the work and life of famous artists of the past, as well as get to know a new generation of sculptors and artists.
The public is in a happy, festive mood during Ramadan, a Sputnik correspondent reports.
The festival's director, Muhammad al Naas, told Sputnik that the program is very diverse and will include exhibitions, competitions, theatrical performances, as well as seminars and various cultural, sports and religious gatherings.
