The share of the ruble in settlements with African countries more than doubled from 2022 to 2023, according to published data from the Russian Central Bank.
The data also showed that the share of unfriendly countries' currencies in trade with Africa has more than halved, while that of friendly countries almost tripled.
According to the International Chamber of Commerce, in 2023 the share of friendly countries in Russia's foreign trade exceeded 75%.
