WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - A US jury convicted Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the weapons supervisor of the Rust movie set, guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, CBS reported.
The report said on Tuesday that Gutierrez-Reed was acquitted on a charge of evidence tampering.
Gutierrez-Reed faces up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine for the involuntary manslaughter charge, the report noted. The report did not mention a sentencing date for Gutierrez-Reed.
Hutchins was killed on October 21, 2021, when a gun held by US actor Alec Baldwin fired during a scene rehearsal on the set at the Bonanza Creek Ranch. A wrongful death lawsuit was filed against Baldwin and other important members of the movie production on February 15, 2022.
In February 2023. Baldwin pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges.
