The UNEA-6 adopted 15 resolutions and a ministerial declaration, Leila Benali, President of the Assembly and Minister of Energy and Sustainable Development of Morocco, announced on Friday.Moreover, two decisions, and a ministerial declaration were adopted, she said.The resolutions focus on water management, strengthening national air quality monitoring, land conservation and sustainable land management.The minister added that the Ministerial Declaration recognized the dire urgency of countering the environmental crisis, endorsed key principles and results from past declarations, and laid out 10 actions which they, as environmental ministers, pledged to carry out.The UNEA chairmanship passed to Abdullah Bin Ali Amri, head of the Oman Environment Authority, Benali said.Nairobi, where UNEA-6 took place from February 26 to March 1, hosted the first African Climate Summit in September 2023, where the Nairobi Declaration was signed. It proposes a global taxation regime to finance climate change programs. The meeting was attended by 17 African heads of state and government, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, scientists, major investors and specialists in the field of the latest technologies. The summit was hosted by Kenya and the African Union.

The UNEA-6 adopted 15 resolutions and a ministerial
