Mauritania has become a new member of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), Secretary General of the organization Mohamed Hamel said.Hamel announced this in his welcoming speech at the beginning of the GECF ministerial meeting in Algiers.He also said about the official request of Senegal to join GECF.The GECF also includes Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. Angola, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique, and Peru hold the status of Observers in the organization.
