ANKARA (Sputnik) - Among the key factors shaping Turkey-Russia relations is their cooperation in the energy sector, agriculture, trade and others. In September, following the meeting with the Russian head of state Putin, Turkish leader Erdogan called him his "dear friend" and expressed intention to strengthen relations between Ankara and Moscow.

Erdogan Calls Putin 'Dear Friend,' Expresses Desire to Enhance Turkish-Russian Relations
During the phone talks, the two presidents have discussed relations between the countries, the presidential office said in a statement.
"During the conversation, president Putin thanked president Erdogan for his contribution to the development of relations between Turkey and Russia on a friendly basis​," the statement read.
