Construction has started at the state-of-the-art Zim Cyber City in Mount Hampden, located just outside of Zimbabwe's capital city of Harare, the local media reported.The first phase of the project involves the installation of roads, sewer trenching and water reticulation systems for the smart city, the report said. Phase one, set to be finished in 15 months, will also consist of 50 villas, two residences, 7,500 m2 of water body, and a dedicated zone for duty-free shops and restaurants.Ultimately, the city will comprise 250 homes, which include 80 high-end villas with green areas, offices, and commercial spaces connected to artificial intelligence, along with a digital transportation system.Mulk International, owned by Dubai-based billionaire Shaji Ul Mulk, is developing the Zim Cyber City.The company also has plans to facilitate the development of telemedicine and telehealthcare home delivery of medicines in the Zim Cyber City and building of diagnostic centers.The company was founded in 1982, and it is now "one of the most sustainable firms in the world," according to its website, operating in 11 countries with a market reach of 90 states and also launching philanthropic initiatives in the UAE and India.

The Zim Cyber City is Zimbabwe's first real estate investment to be facilitated under the Zimbabwe Global Investments (ZGI) Special Economic Zone initiative. It was endorsed by President Mnangagwa and approved by the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion.
Construction has started at the state-of-the-art Zim Cyber City in Mount Hampden, located just outside of
Zimbabwe's capital city of Harare, the local media reported.
“The real work starts now and as you can see, heavy equipment is already on the ground to start civil works,” Chief executive officer of ZGI, Tendayi Hlupo-Mamvura, reportedly said. “The added advantage is that Government has also started upgrading the major roads to the new city and Parliament, and also the road to Charles Prince Airport.”
