The documentary "Dahomey" (2024), which tells about art objects stolen from Africa by colonialists, received the main award of the Berlin Film Festival - the Golden Bear.
The film by the French-Senegalese director Mati Diop, tells the story of artifacts brought to France in 1982 from the pre-1900 state of Dahomey.
Accepting the "Golden Bear" award, she expressed hope that objects of trophy art looted from Africa will be returned to the continent.
