TEL AVIV (Sputnik) - The Israeli government will limit entry to the Temple Mount for Palestinians from the West Bank during the holy month of Ramadan, a government source told Sputnik, adding that no more than 15,000 people over 60 and under 10 years old will enter the holy site in Jerusalem.
The source added that the issue of the need to introduce restrictions for Israeli Arabs and residents of Jerusalem will be decided by the police.
Earlier, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said he opposed allowing Palestinians from the West Bank to pray on the Temple Mount during Ramadan. Israeli media reported that the far-right politician also demanded that entry to the holy site be restricted for Israeli Arabs.
