MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have turned "into a terrorist organization" that shells civilians and medical personnel.
The Russian Foreign Ministry accused the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of terrorism after Ukrainian troops struck a packed bakery in the city of Lisichansk on Saturday, killing at least 28 civilians.
"Russia will inform international organizations about the latest act of terrorism by Zelensky’s gang. We expect the relevant international organizations to issue a swift and firm rebuke for Kiev’s crime," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.
The Russian Investigative Committee said the strike was apparently launched using a US-supplied HIMARS rocket system. It collapsed the building, trapping about 40 people under the debris.
