MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In response to the eruption of deadly intercommunal violence in the Central African Republic in 2013, the United Nations Security Council launched in 2014 the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
A peacekeeper of the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) died, and five others were injured as an explosive device detonated in the northwest of the country.

"The peacekeeper, Atebele Emmanuel Steve, lost his life during a patrol in the village of Mbindale," the mission said in a statement late on monday, adding: "[...] Five other peacekeepers were injured, two of them seriously, following this explosion."
