As the African Cup of Nations kicked off on January 13, the Transfermarkt portal has ranked the market value of the players participating in the competition.The 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON-2023) kicked off on January 13, at the Alassane-Ouattara Olympic stadium in Ebimpé, 25 km north of Côte d'Ivoire's city of Abidjan. Some 20,000 young volunteers, 17,000 members of the security forces and 2,500 stewards will be mobilized for this month of competition, during which the organizers expect up to 1.5 million visitors, in particular from neighboring countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea and Ghana. A total of 24 countries have qualified for this event, which takes place every two years. In 2022, Cameroon was the host country.

Achraf Hakimi, World Cup semi-finalist from Morocco, is worth $71 million;
Egyptian Mohamed Salah, Liverpool's star winger, is valued at the same amount of $71 million;
The young Mohammed Kudus, rising star of Ghanaian football, is valued at $49 million;
André Onana, goalkeeper of Cameroon and Manchester United, is worth $43,8 million.
