"We have many exciting developments on the horizon, but one stands out in particular: the arrival of East Africa's first ever seven-star hotel on Pemba Island," Sharif Ali Sharif, the executive director of the Zanzibar Investment Authority, was quoted by the outlet as saying.
He reportedly expressed gratitude to the autonomy's President Hussein Mwinyi "for his visionary leadership in making this a reality."
Sharif also unveiled plans for a convention center with a capacity of 2,500 in the autonomy's Fumba Free Economic Zone, accompanied by versatile sports stadiums, the report says.
