MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The situation in the Lebanese-Israeli border area has deteriorated after the start of the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, where more than 22,400 Palestinians have been killed, as per local authorities. The Israeli army and Hezbollah fighters fire at each other's positions in areas along the border on a daily basis.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday that the Israeli air force had struck a Hezbollah operational command center in southern Lebanon.
"Earlier today, an IAF fighter jet struck a Hezbollah operational command center in the area of the town of Blida in Lebanon," the statement read.
IDF tanks and artillery also
launched strikes in several areas in Lebanon, the IDF added.
"Earlier today, numerous launches were identified from Lebanon toward Israeli territory. The IDF struck the sources of the fire," the military added.
