In the port city of Oran, fishermen discovered a stranded whale, the local media reported earlier this week. A video of a huge whale carcass went viral on social media.

Although the cause of this whale's death is unknown, other whales sometimes die from collisions with warships. Moreover, some countries are trying to obtain official permission for such actions.
In November, the US Navy officially requested permission to allow its ships to encounter large numbers of whales in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California during exercises, media reported.
