The Russian government will order over 8,500 mainly domestically produced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in 2024-2026 as part of a national project aimed at developing the drone industry in Russia, Russian Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov told Sputnik.The trade minister has also said that currently there are about 200 entities that are involved in the development and production of drones.Additionally, in 2024, Russia plans to launch the mass production of its naval drones, Mikhail Danilenko, the managing director of the Russian Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant, told Sputnik.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that industrial production of drones in Russia was actively increasing, but still many unmanned aerial vehicles was privately purchased abroad. The situation with providing the Russian military in the special military operation in Ukraine with drones is improving, Putin added.
The Russian government will order over 8,500 mainly domestically produced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in 2024-2026 as part of a national project aimed at
developing the drone industry in Russia, Russian Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov told Sputnik.
"According to our current estimates, in 2024-2026, the authorities and subordinate institutions will order more than 8,500 mainly Russian UAS. As you know, it is planned to stimulate the further development of this industry via a separate national project," Manturov said.
The trade minister has also said that currently there are about 200 entities that are involved in the development and production of
drones.
