DRC outgoing President, Felix Tshisekedi is running for his second term.Among his main rivals are Moise Katumbi, former governor of the country's province of Katanga; Denis Mukwege, Nobel 2018 Peace Prize winner; and Martin Fayulu, the leader of the DRC Engagement for Citizenship and Development party.The previous presidential election, which was originally scheduled to take place in 2016, had been postponed several times until December 2018. Tshisekedi, who won the 2018 polls, marking, according to the United Nations, the "first peaceful transfer of power" in the DRC since the country's independence.
