Importers must become producers and must contribute to local production and processing, said the head of Burkina Faso's transitional government, Captain Ibrahim Traore, the local news agency AIB reported.At the official inauguration ceremony of the President of the National Employers' Council of Burkina Faso, Traore outlined his vision for the country's economic development.First, Traore thanked Burkina Faso's private sector for its resilience despite the country's security challenges.In his opinion, the creation of new enterprises should contribute to strengthening the economy of Burkina Faso.In turn, the president of the employers' organization of Burkina Faso, Idriss Nassa, assured the head of state of his support for this strategy. He also made a commitment to shape with all members a new "face" of Burkinabe employers whose vision is the defense of the material, moral and professional interests of the nation.Speaking of bolstering the national economy, in October, the government of the West African country made an important economic move by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Russian company Rosatom for building a nuclear power plant in the African state, aimed to foster development of nuclear power stations in Burkina Faso, the country's Minister of Energy, Mining and Quarries Simon-Pierre Boussim told Sputnik Africa in an interview.According to the minister, the agreement was reached "for the purpose of the development of nuclear power plants in Burkina Faso and in order to see to what extent we can use this energy peacefully to satisfy the needs of the Burkinabe population, in particular in terms of industry, medicine, agriculture, security, etc."

In his opinion, the creation of new enterprises should contribute to strengthening the economy of Burkina Faso.
"I invite employers to include in their strategic plan our vision of endogenous development based on the intensification of production. We hope that from January we will find the necessary strategies to reduce the volume of imports. We want importers to now be producers and to be able to contribute to production and processing on site. It is in this sense that we can also create a lot of jobs and wealth," said Traore.
In turn, the president of the employers' organization of Burkina Faso, Idriss Nassa, assured the head of state of his support for this strategy.
