The Russian "Vector" research institute, part of Ruselectronics holding within Russia's state technological company Rostec, is set to cooperate with an unnamed Egyptian electronics manufacturer for the licensed production of Russian civilian anti-unmanned-aerial-vehicle (UAV) complexes called "Zashchita" ("Protection"), as reported by the Rostec press service on Wednesday.According to the signed agreement, the parties will collaborate to increase production and promote means of combating UAVs develpoed by "Vector".According to Sergey Skorykh, the Director General of the Vector Research Institute, "Vector" cooperating with an Egyptian company is a significant step toward the promising African market.The Protection complex combines various devices including a passive radar station, radio monitoring equipment, and a suppression system of the "Serp-VS" line.Additionally, in 2024, Russia plans to launch the mass production of its naval drones, Mikhail Danilenko, the managing director of the Russian Kingisepp Machine-Building Plant (KMZ), told Sputnik.Recent reports also indicate that Africa's share in the arms deliveries by the Russian state arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, surpassing 30% of the total volume, with contracts surpassing $5.2 billion signed this year, according to the company's head, Alexander Mikheev.

On December 6, the invention was presented at the international defense industry exhibition EDEX 2023, held on December 4-7 in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
The Russian "Vector" research institute, part of Ruselectronics holding within Russia's state technological company Rostec, is set to
cooperate with an unnamed Egyptian electronics manufacturer for the licensed production of Russian civilian anti-unmanned-aerial-vehicle (UAV) complexes called "Zashchita" ("Protection"), as reported by the Rostec press service on Wednesday.
"The Vector Research Institute of the Ruselectronics holding and the Egyptian electronics manufacturing company will cooperate in the field of organizing licensed production of civilian anti-UAV complexes 'Zashchita.' This mobile equipment is activated in a matter of minutes and provides protection from drones within a radius of 2 km, regardless of the time of day and weather conditions. The parties signed a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the International Defense Exhibition Egypt Defense Expo in Cairo," the corporation revealed.
According to the signed agreement, the parties will collaborate to increase production and promote means of
combating UAVs develpoed by "Vector".
"This agreement opens up an opportunity for us to explore new markets and promote Russian products in the field of drone protection to the African continent," the Director General of the Vector Research Institute, Sergey Skorykh said.
