MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine since early October has resulted in the deaths of nearly 1,200 people in Israel and over 14,800 in the Gaza Strip.
Air raid sirens sounded in the north of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
"Sirens sounded in northern Israel," the IDF said on Telegram.
The Israeli military said Later in the day that an interceptor had been launched toward a "suspicious aerial target" in the north of the country.
"Sirens sounded afterwards again as a result of the launch of the interceptor. The incident has concluded," the IDF said.
Earlier in the day, the IDF said it had downed a missile launched from Lebanon toward an Israeli army drone.
Escalation of the conflict between Israel and Palestinian movement Hamas started on October 7. On Friday morning, the sides launched a four-day truce to exchange some of the prisoners and hostages. The deal also committed Israel to allowing daily supply of humanitarian aid and fuel to the Gaza Strip.

The military wing of Palestinian movement Hamas, Al Qassam Brigades, announced on Saturday a delay in the release of the second group of Israeli hostages until Israel fulfills the terms of a prisoner exchange deal.
"The Al Qassam Brigades decided to postpone the release of the second group of prisoners until occupants fulfill the terms of the agreement regarding the entry of humanitarian aid trucks into the northern Gaza Strip and comply with the agreed standards for the release of prisoners," the movement said on Telegram.

Hamas Starts Handing Over Second Group of Israeli Hostages to ICRC - Reports
The military wing of Palestinian movement Hamas, Al Qassam Brigades, has started handing over the second group of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip to the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Palestinian channel Al-Aqsa reported on Saturday.
The handover is taking place in the Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip, the report read.
Al-Aqsa was among the media which reported, citing sources, about the handover of the first group of Israeli hostages by Hamas' military wing to ICRC officials on Friday.

Palestinian Official Accuses Israel of Non-Compliance With Prisoner Exchange Deal
Qadura Fares, the head of a Palestinian commission on detainee affairs, accused Israel on Saturday of failing to comply with the terms of the bilateral deal with Hamas on ceasefire and prisoner release.
"There are indications of a possible crisis regarding the list of names [of Palestinian prisoners] announced by Israel due to Israel's failure to adhere to the agreed-upon criterion of seniority in the deal," Fares told CNN.
He specified that Israel was not taking into account the time spent in custody when determining the order in which to release Palestinian prisoners.

Egypt Receives Positive Signals From All Parties to Extend Truce in Gaza Strip - Reports
Egypt has received positive signals from all parties to the conflict in the Gaza Strip to extend the truce in the enclave so as to release more hostages, the Al Qahera News broadcaster reported on Saturday.
The Egyptian authorities are engaged in talks on extending the ceasefire for several more days to release both hostages in the Gaza Strip and Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons, the report said.
Al Arabiya reported, citing sources, that Qatar and Egypt are taking part in the negotiations on extending the truce for two days.

Another Israeli Vessel Came Under Fire in Arabian Sea This Week - Reports
An Israeli-owned vessel was attacked in the Arabian Sea earlier this week, Lebanese broadcaster Al Mayadeen reported on Saturday, citing sources.
The ship was fired at by the unknown on the night between Thursday and Friday, the sources were cited as saying.
Another ship, supposedly owned by an Israeli company, was attacked in the Red Sea by Yemen's Houthis this past week. The rebels said they would treat its 25-man crew as guests as long as they were not Israelis and warned that they would continue targeting Israel-linked ships until Israel stopped attacking the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office has denied that the ship was owned or operated by Israelis and accused Iran of being behind the hijack.

Qatari Delegation Arrives in Israel to Monitor Fulfillment of Hostage Deal – Reports
A Qatari delegation has arrived in Israel to ensure that the deal with Hamas on ceasefire and prisoner swap progresses without issues, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Saturday, citing a diplomatic source.
The source was quoted as saying that "part of the Qatari mission arrived for a visit aimed at coordinating between the parties at home and their counterparts in Doha to ensure that the deal continues to progress smoothly and to discuss more details about the ongoing deal."

Hamas Political Chief's Adviser Accuses Israel of Violating Truce Deal
Israel has violated provisions of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip multiple times, Taher Nono, a media adviser to the head of the Hamas political bureau, said on Saturday.
"Israel has repeatedly violated the [ceasefire] agreement ... the occupiers violated the agreement by opening fire in more than one place in the Gaza Strip, which led to the death of two people," Nono said in an interview with Al Jazeera broadcaster.
He also claimed that Israel did not comply with the provisions on humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip.
"If the occupiers do not commit to delivering aid to the northern Gaza Strip, this will jeopardize the entire agreement," he added.
Additionally, the Hamas spokesman accused Israel of not adhering to the "prisoner release standards" agreed upon through mediators.

First Group of Freed Hamas Hostages in Israel Being Treated, in Good Condition – Reports
The first 13 people released from Hamas captivity and transferred to Israel are being treated at hospitals and in good condition, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Saturday, citing doctors.
The Schneider Children's Medical Center in Petah Tikva was cited as saying it had admitted four women and four children released by Hamas who are now in good condition.
The other five Israelis were received by the Wolfson Medical Center in the city of Holon and are also in a stable condition, the newspaper reported.

Israeli Military Intelligence Knew of Hamas Plans Year Before Escalation - Reports
Israel's military intelligence knew of Hamas' plans to attack Israel a year before the conflict escalated and reported the information to the Israeli Security Agency, but decision-makers did not take the threat seriously, Israeli newspaper Haaretz has reported, citing defense ministry officials.
Israel's political leaders knew at least some of the intelligence data, but it appears they did not believe Hamas could proceed with the attack plan and breach the border, the officials were cited as saying by the newspaper.
On Friday, the Financial Times newspaper reported that a high-ranking Israeli military intelligence officer had called a detailed warning predicting a Hamas attack on October 7 an "imaginary scenario."

Israel Allows Eight Trucks With Diesel, Gas to Enter Gaza Strip, Defense Ministry Says
Israel has allowed four trucks carrying diesel fuel and four trucks carrying gas for domestic use to enter the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing from Egypt under the truce deal with Hamas, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) of the Israeli Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"This morning (Sat), 4 tankers of fuel and 4 tankers of cooking gas were transferred from Egypt to UN humanitarian aid orgs in the southern Gaza Strip via the Rafah Crossing," COGAT said on X.
It specified that the fuel is designated to be used for operating humanitarian infrastructure in Gaza.

IDF Says Hamas Holding Over 230 Hostages in Gaza Strip
Hamas continues to hold more than 230 Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Doron Spielman said on Saturday.
"There are over 230 hostages currently being hold in Gaza," Spielman said on X.
He said that Israeli medical and aid professionals were working to ease the adaptation of the Israeli hostages who returned on Friday under a truce deal.
On Friday morning, Israel and Hamas launched a four-day truce to exchange some of the prisoners and hostages.

Israel Starts Preparations to Release 42 Palestinians Within Deal With Hamas - Reports
The Israel Prison Service has received a list of 42 Palestinian prisoners to be released on Saturday as part of the second day of a truce deal with Hamas and already started relevant procedures, Israeli news portal Ynet has reported.
Around 1:30 p.m. local time (11:30 GMT) the group of Palestinian prisoners is to be transferred from Israeli prisons to Ofer prison in the West Bank, the report read. There they will meet with Red Cross representatives, the report added.
The release will take place after the arrival of a second group of Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip, who are also due to be released today as part of the truce deal, the news portal reported.

Russian Emergencies Ministry Says Will Supply Another 15 Tons of Aid for Gaza Population
The Russian Emergencies Ministry will deliver another 15 tons of humanitarian aid for the population of the Gaza Strip, an Il-76 plane has departed for Egypt, the ministry said on Telegram.

"The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations will deliver another batch of humanitarian aid for the population of Gaza... There are 15 tons of cargo on board the ministry's Il-76 aircraft," it said.

The ministry said the cargo includes food, including baby food, personal hygiene products, bed linen, blankets and sleeping bags.
The humanitarian cargo will be handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which will redirect it to the Gaza Strip, it said.

The Israel Defense Forces said it had downed a missile launched from Lebanon toward an IDF drone.
"The IDF downed a surface-to-air missile that was launched from Lebanon toward an IDF UAV. The UAV was not damaged and continued on its mission. The missile did not cross into Israeli territory and no alerts were activated according to protocol," the IDF said on Telegram.
It also said it had struck Lebanese movement Hezbollah's infrastructure in response.
"In response to the launch, IDF fighter jets struck Hezbollah's terror infrastructure a short while ago. During the incident, an interceptor was also launched," the IDF said.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said 22 Israeli and foreign released hostages had arrived at the Hatzerim Base in the country's south.

"At this hour, 22 of the Israeli and foreign released hostages have arrived at the Hatzerim Base, from which they will be taken to hospitals and reunited with their families. Two of the Israeli released hostages have been transferred to a hospital by vehicle," the IDF said on Telegram.

It said Israeli Air Force (IAF) helicopters were waiting at the base to fly the released hostages to hospitals.

WHO Calls to Respect Legal, Human Rights of Health Workers Detained in Gaza
The World Health Organization (WHO) said the rights of members of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society and employees of the Palestinian Health Ministry, detained in the Gaza Strip during an operation to evacuate patients from the Shifa hospital in the enclave's north, must be respected.
"Two of the six detained health workers have reportedly been released. We do not have information about the well-being of the four remaining health staff, including the director of Al-Shifa hospital.
