In October, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the US was moving its dual-use biological research from Europe to Africa, namely to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Uganda and South Africa. Russia also expressed concerns regarding the issue, as the results of the biological research are not available to Africans.
The United States partially reduced its work on military biology after Moscow's statements concerning US biological laboratories abroad, Russia's Ministry of Defense said.
"Most often they remain silent. Sometimes they are instructed not to react at all. They have curtailed part of the work, and we believe that this is our achievement," the commander of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops, Igor Kirillov said on air of a Russian TV channel.
In addition, he noted that Russia "reached out to many countries that probably need to think about what the Pentagon is actually doing on their territory."
According to Kirillov, there were 46 biological laboratories in Ukraine, which is why the biological situation there is not easy now.

What Are US Motives for Deploying Its Biolabs in Africa?
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the US has created a network of biological laboratories in some countries, where work with dangerous viruses and other pathogens is carried out under the auspices of the American Defense Department.
On March 6, 2022, the official representative of the ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, reported that during the special operation in Ukraine, Russia's armed forces revealed the facts of a military biological program funded by the US.
This October, the ministry reported that the US was redeploying its dual-use biological research from Europe to such countries as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Uganda and South Africa.
Following this, Russian diplomat Oleg Ozerov, the head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Economic Forum, said that his country is concerned about the possible expansion of US biolabs in Africa, given that Africans have no access to the results of such biological research conducted in their countries.
