MOSCOW (Sputnik) - At least eight people were killed and dozens were injured as a result of an Israeli airstrike on the Nasser medical complex in Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday, citing the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The medical complex, which includes, among other things, a children's hospital, was hit directly and indirectly by Israeli missiles, the broadcaster reported.
At the same time, at least two Palestinians were killed, and several others were injured after the Israeli air force struck the vicinities of Kamal Adwan and Al-Quds hospitals in Gaza, the broadcaster said.
On October 7, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel from Gaza, killing and abducting people in neighboring Israeli communities. The movement said its "Al-Aqsa flood" operation came in response to provocations and occupation of Palestinian territories.
Israel retaliated by bombing the entire Gaza Strip, home to more than 2.5 million people, by land, sea and air, bombing homes, schools, hospitals and mosques with hundreds of thousands of tons of large bombs. In addition, the Jewish state has imposed a blockade on the Strip, cutting off supplies of water, food, medicine, electricity and fuel. In addition, more than 150 Palestinians have been killed by the Israelis in the occupied territories of the West Bank.
On October 27, Israel launched a large-scale ground incursion into Gaza with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas and freeing Israeli captives.
