Besides Russian officials, the restrictions target the country's exports of energy, food and fertilizer, as well as imports of high-tech products and various manufactured goods.

sanctions against Russia are a continuation of Washington's policy of inflicting strategic defeat on Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.
On Thursday, the United States imposed new Russia-related sanctions on 37 individuals and 192 entities for their alleged role in "harmful activities" of the
Russian government.
"[It is a] continuation of the policy of inflicting, as they formulate it, a strategic defeat on us. Every year something new is invented by them — either deterrence, or something else, now — a strategic defeat. This will never happen," Zakharova told the Rossiya 24 broadcaster.
