Egypt has announced the opening of the Rafah border crossing in order to allow wounded Palestinians, some foreigners and dual nationals to leave the conflict zone, AFP reported on Wednesday.A source familiar with the matter told Sputnik that ambulances with the wounded from the Gaza Strip entered the territory of Egypt through the checkpoint.On Tuesday, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Lt. Col. Richard Hecht confirmed the strike on the Jabalia camp in the Gaza Strip that left at least 400 people dead and injured. Those killed, according to the spokesman, he referred to as a "tragedy of war". Later, the IDF conducted a second strike on the camp, causing even more deaths, a Palestinian news agency reported.So far, the death toll from Israeli strikes on Gaza has exceeded 8,500, among them are 3,542 children and 2,187 women, the enclave's health ministry said earlier.
