Turkey is preparing to create a new international structure including many new actors, against the backdrop of the inability of the United Nations Security Council and other existing international organizations to solve today’s problems, Turkish presidential spokesman Fahrettin Altun said on Monday. The official also said that Turkey's goals for its second century will be to increase the welfare of its citizens, invest in the country's infrastructure in order to capitalize on the potential of Turkey's strategic location as a center of trade and production. Altun also said that Turkey effectively uses humanitarian and diplomatic channels to solve global and regional problems. As an example of such a success, he cited the grain deal, saying that it indicated Turkey’s influence in this area and its political potential.

Turkey Preparing to Create New Int'l Structure Due to UN's Impotence, Erdogan's Spokesman Says
ISTANBUL (Sputnik) - On Sunday, Turkey celebrated the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the secular republic. The Turkish leader Erdogan delivered a speech regarding the occasion. In addition, the president's spokesman Altun wrote an article devoted to the celebration for Qatar-based media Al Jazeera.
Turkey is preparing to create a new international structure including many new actors, against the backdrop of the inability of the United Nations Security Council and other existing international organizations to solve today’s problems, Turkish presidential spokesman Fahrettin Altun said on Monday.
"It is obvious that the UN Security Council and similar international structures are unable to solve global problems in full and have even begun to deepen them and lead to crises. It is clear that it is necessary to establish new international organizations, consistent with the spirit of the new century and new era, taking into account new balances. Turkey is preparing for a new multi-faceted international environment involving many players, following President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan's motto 'the world is bigger than five,'" Altun said in an article, dedicated to the centennial of the Turkish Republic, seen by Sputnik.
The official also said that Turkey's goals for its second century will be to increase the welfare of its citizens, invest in the country's infrastructure in order to capitalize on the potential of Turkey's strategic location as a center of trade and production.
"Once the infrastructure task is 100% completed, a strong Turkey will increase its influence in the region. Along with the achievements of recent years, Turkey is now included in the international balance, it is successfully fulfilling the role of a game rules setter... Turkey has entered its second century as a leader and an important player, as proven by Ukraine, Karabakh and other issues that were brought out into open discussion," he added.
Altun also said that Turkey effectively
uses humanitarian and diplomatic channels to solve global and regional problems. As an example of such a success, he cited the
grain deal, saying that it indicated Turkey’s influence in this area and its political potential.
