Sberbank – the largest universal bank in Russia and Eastern Europe – is considering participation in investment projects of its corporate clients in Africa, said the first deputy chairman of the bank’s board, Alexander Vedyakhin. Vedyakhin noted that it is too early to talk about details, "but we have good experience in the African region as a whole and an understanding of which countries we will focus on working with first," added the first deputy chairman.The bank was established on March 22, 1991. In the first half of 2023, the financial institution had around 107.2 million active private customers and 3.1 million active corporate customers.According to reports, Sberbank is in the top ten among the world's largest banks in terms of assets. It is the most popular bank among private customers in Russia, its services are in use by the majority of Russian residents (87.1% as of September 2020).On October 11, the sixth annual Russian Energy Week began in Moscow. The main theme of the event is "New Reality of Global Energy: Creating the Future". Representatives of leading financial and energy companies from all over the world are taking part in the event.

Sberbank – the largest universal bank in Russia and Eastern Europe – is considering participation in investment projects of its corporate clients in Africa, said the first deputy chairman of the bank’s board, Alexander Vedyakhin.
"We are looking at how exactly we can help our clients doing business with Africa. We are considering different formats, including participation in investment projects," he told reporters on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week.
Vedyakhin noted that it is too early to talk about details, "but we have good experience in the
African region as a whole and an understanding of which countries we will focus on working with first," added the first deputy chairman.
