UK Foreign Secretary Says Supporting Ukraine 'Tough, Painful'

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Since the start of the Russian military operation in February 2022 western countries have been supplying Ukraine with military and financial aid, as well as reduced economic cooperation with Moscow and imposed sanctions, which led to a spike in inflation in the West.
Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom James Cleverly said on Saturday that supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia is tough and painful.
"This is tough and this is painful. But it will only be more tough and more painful if we falter," Cleverly said in an interview with The House magazine.

The UK's government position concerning the matter is resolute, he said, adding that fatigue from the conflict exists and that it is a "big thing."
In early September, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Ukraine received about $100 billion worth of military aid from the Western allies since the start of Russian special military operation in February 2022, adding the United States' defense assistance alone stands at over $50 billion.
