MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier in August, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will chair BRICS next year and will host the summit of the leaders in the city of Kazan in October of 2024.
The BRICS Parliamentary Forum will take place in St. Petersburg in the fall of 2024, Russian upper house speaker Valentina Matvienko said on Thursday.

"In the autumn of 2024, the X BRICS Parliamentary Forum will be held in St. Petersburg in tandem with the BRICS Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Kazan," Matvienko said in a video address to the participants of the IX BRICS Parliamentary Forum, held in South Africa.
