Libyan National Army Commander Khalifa Haftar visited Russia on Tuesday, where he held talks at the Russian Defense Ministry, the LNA said in a statement. Libyan National Army Commander Khalifa Haftar visited Russia on Tuesday, where he held talks at the Russian Defense Ministry, the LNA said in a statement.
According to the statement, Haftar’s visit took place at the invitation of the Russian side. The deputy defense minister of Russia, Col. Gen. Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, greeted Haftar.
"During the visit, negotiations were held with Russian high-ranking officials on the development of the situation in Libya, bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to strengthen and develop them were discussed," the LNA said.
