Zimbabwe is seeking financing for its development projects from the BRICS’ New Development Bank (NDB), the information director of the southern African country's governing Zanu-PF party told Sputnik. The official said Zimbabwe shared many of the top emerging economies’ interests, including economic growth, sustainable development, the environment and climate change, innovation, technology and de-dollarization, and was eager to join the club and trade more with its members. The BRICS — Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa — established NDB in 2015 in a bid to raise funds for infrastructure and sustainable development projects in emerging markets and developing countries. The leaders of the five agreed to add Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to the fold during the summit of the group in Johannesburg in August.
