UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that the policy of containing and weakening Russia was a long-term strategy of the West, while the West's intensification of sanctions pressure dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.
Africa has been impacted by the conflict in Ukraine and anti-Russia sanctions given the region's reliance for crucial supplies from Europe, South Sudanese Finance Minister Bak Barnaba Chol said.
"We do," Chol told reporters when when asked if South Sudan feels the impact of Anti-Russian sanctions. "The region depends on inputs from the Eastern Europe, especially the wheat and other essential commodities."

Additionally, Chol further pointed out the significant impact of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war on the region.
"We call upon the two parties to stop the war for humanity," Chol added.
Moscow exited the UN and Turkey-brokered grain deal with Ukraine in July due to the West's failure to lift sanctions on food and fertilizer exports from Russia.
