10:05 22.09.2023 (Updated: 10:13 22.09.2023) UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) - Russia enhances cooperation with Africa in variuos fields. For instance, in late July, South Sudanese Mining Minister Martin Gama Abucha revealed that Russian state-owned mining holding RosGeo is expected to complete a geological survey in South Sudan in several months for creating a geological map of the African country.
South Sudanese Finance Minister Bak Barnaba Chol said on Thursday that Russia's
support for Africa across various sectors has been significant and is being recognized.
"That is significant. It's important that Africa receive support from Russia and we recognize the support from Russia in different sectors," Chol said.
The finance minister highlighted the potential for increasing collaboration between Russia and African countries, particularly emphasizing opportunities in
South Sudan.
"In Africa, particularly in countries like South Sudan, we have potential in agriculture. So many sectors that Russia can help," the minister noted.
South Sudan "definitely" has a strong interest in economic cooperation with Russia, Chol added.
