09:51 21.09.2023 (Updated: 13:41 21.09.2023) TEL AVIV (Sputnik) - Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu held meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York with Presidents Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi and Salva Kiir of South Sudan, where he divulged Israel's desire to cultivate ties with Africa in various spheres, Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.
The Israeli Prime Minister's office stated on Wednesday that the country's PM, Benjamin Netanyahu, is determined to strengthen ties with the nations of Africa and
boost cooperation in innovation, agriculture, food security and water.
"The Prime Minister expressed Israel’s readiness for cooperation that could contribute to African stability and prosperity," the office said.
It said Netanyahu praised the
African Union’s accession to the G20 as a permanent member.
"The Prime Minister invited the two leaders to visit Israel and both replied that they would be pleased to accept the invitation," the office said.
