MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Ukrainian armed forces' overnight attack on the city of Sevastopol in Crimea wounded 24 people, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said early Wednesday, citing preliminary information, adding that there was no threat to civilian facilities due to the fire at the Sevastopol Shipyard (Sevmorzavod).
Russian air defense forces repelled an overnight attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on the city of Sevastopol in Crimea, a fire erupted at a non-civilian facility in the area of Kilen-Balka, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said early Wednesday.
"Approximately 20 minutes ago, Sevastopol was attacked by our enemies. Air defenses activated. In the area of Kilen-Balka, there is a fire now at a non-civilian facility. According to preliminary information, the fire occurred due to the missile attack," the governor said on Telegram, adding that emergency services were working on site urging citizens to "remain calm."
The governor added that the situation in the air continues to be monitored, and all operational services were on standby.
According to the governor, citing preliminary information, 24 people were injured as a result of the repelled attack.
"I am currently at the site of the fire at the southern site of Sevmorzavod. All operational services are working on site; there is no danger to civilian facilities in the city. According to preliminary information, a total of 24 people were injured as a result of the attack, four of them are in moderate condition. All necessary assistance to the victims is being provided," the governor said on Telegram.
