MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Nigeria's election tribunal will announce on September 6 its decision regarding petitions challenging the results of the February 25 presidential election, won by the ruling party's candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigerian media reported.
The petitions were filed by the Allied Peoples Movement party and two presidential candidates — Atiku Abubakar, of the center-right Peoples Democratic Party, and Nigerian businessman Peter Obi — who came second and third in the presidential vote, the local newspaper reported.

Nigerian Court Begins Hearing Presidential Election Challenges
The Nigerian presidential election took place on February 25. Tinubu won with over 8.7 million votes in a tight competition, while ex-vice president Abubakar received over 6.9 million votes and Obi got around 6.1 million votes, according to the data of the independent electoral commission released on March 1.
