On Friday, the media reported that a number of regions of Kenya were left without electricity. The country’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, which is one of the busiest transport hubs in Africa, was also left without energy for several hours. On Saturday afternoon, Kenya Power said that power had been restored in most regions, but some areas of the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, as well as the city of Mombasa, remained without electricity. The operator said that importing electricity from Uganda would be more efficient and convenient, but during the crisis it was unavailable, the Ugandan news portal reported. However, Kenya Power decided to ask Uganda for help in dealing with the more than 20-hour blackout, the report added.

On Friday, the media reported that a number of regions of Kenya were left without electricity. The country’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, which is one of the busiest transport hubs in Africa, was also left without energy for several hours.
