Russian University Synergy to Set Up Comprehensive Ranking of BRICS Higher Education Institutions
13:10 28.08.2023 (Updated: 13:33 28.08.2023) The private Synergy University was founded in Moscow in 1995 and has received awards from the Russian government for its educational and teaching aids in the field of business competition and entrepreneurship.
Russian Synergy University has announced plans to unite the concepts of educational programs of BRICS member countries' universities in order to create a common rating, according to a university statement obtained by Sputnik.
Synergy clarified that the ranking
will be embodied in the Russian program "Priority-2030" providing for the increase of scientific and educational potential of universities.
According to the university, the rating will be carried out within the Association of Private Educational Organizations of BRICS countries, the establishment of which Synergy announced at the BRICS forum in South Africa.
Invitations to join the Association have already been sent to more than 124 partner organizations from India, China, Brazil and other countries, the institution added.
Synergy University is one of the three leaders in the number of foreign students in Russia: currently about 7,000 people from 89 countries study at the university. About half of them came from
African countries, Synergy explained.
"Synergy is actively building educational and economic ties with African partners. This will allow us to multiply the number of students from Africa in our educational programs and open completely new areas of study in the future," said Vadim Lobov, President of Synergy Corporation.
In addition to African countries, Synergy is expanding cooperation with other BRICS members. A dual degree program with a partner university in China has already been developed and implemented, and this year Synergy will open a representative office in China. There are also plans to open representative offices in India, the university said.
