FC Bayern is one of the most titled clubs in the world and the most titled in Germany, credited with 33 league titles, 20 German Cups and 6 Champions League victories. At the end of 2013, Bayern became the first German club to win the Club World Cup.
Visit Rwanda Government Agency and German football club Bayern Munich have agreed to a five-year partnership on football development and tourism promotion, the agency said.
As part of the deal, the club will partner with the Rwandan Ministry of Sports to establish a football academy to promote its development in the country.

The club will also place Visit Rwanda branding on LED scoreboards during matches at the 75,000 capacity Allianz Arena and "different activities will be organized to promote tourism and investment opportunities in Rwanda."

Germany's most titled club's Executive Officer Jan-Christian Dreesen said that "Africa is a continent of opportunity" and the partnership will allow Bayern to be active on the continent, gaining "important experience."
For his part, Rwanda's Sports Minister Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju noted that the partnership provides Rwanda with a great platform to strive for excellence in football.
"We are delighted to be partnering with FC Bayern to support the development of football for boys and girls in Rwanda. We are looking forward to creating the FC Bayern Academy where their expert coaches will be able to share their knowledge of the game with local coaches and players," Mimosa Munyangaju said.
Visit Rwanda, the East African country's state-owned company that aims to promote the nation's tourism image, has already entered into similar partnerships with top clubs in Europe.

In 2018, the agency signed a deal with London's Arsenal and a year later with French giant Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The partnership with Arsenal and PSG earned more than $160 million and brought in a million visitors, generating an additional $445 million, the Rwanda Development Board's manager, Clare Akamanzi, said in March.
