A huge blast hit the Sudanese capital of Khartoum on Saturday afternoon, sources told Sputnik, with video footage showing a massive fireball and black plumes of smoke billowing above the city. Sudan’s armed forces and the rebel Rapid Support Forces again traded blows in the conflict-ravaged city on Saturday, sources said. The rival militaries have been fighting for control of the North African country since mid-April, displacing more than 4.5 million people both inside and outside Sudan, according to UN figures. Thousands are thought to have been killed or injured.

Huge Blast Hits Sudan's Capital Khartoum, Sources Say
On April 15, violent clashes broke out between the Sudanese army and the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with their epicenter in Khartoum. The parties to the conflict have introduced a number of temporary nationwide ceasefires since then, but none has helped in settling the conflict yet.
A huge blast hit the Sudanese capital of Khartoum on Saturday afternoon, sources told Sputnik, with video footage showing a massive fireball and black plumes of smoke billowing above the city.
"Loud explosions were heard in the vicinity of Khartoum International Airport. The explosion is believed to have erupted at the airport’s jet fuel depot," a local source said.
