MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Niger's rebel Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine received ministerial delegations from Mali and Burkina Faso in Niamey on Thursday, Nigerien media reported.
The Malian delegation included Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop and Economy Minister Alousseini Sanou, while Burkina Faso was represented by Foreign Minister Olivia Rouamba and Minister Delegate for African Integration and Burkinabes Abroad, Jean Marie Karamoko Traore, Nigerien news agency ANP reported.
The rebel interior and foreign ministers of Niger also participated in the meeting, the report said.
A coup took place in Niger on July 26. President Mohamed Bazoum was ousted and detained by his own guard, led by Gen. Abdourahamane Tchiani.

ECOWAS Gathers Troops in Countries Bordering Niger for Possible Intervention: Reports
Following the coup, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) suspended all cooperation with Niger and threatened invasion if the putschists do not reinstate Bazoum.
ECOWAS member states Mali and Burkina Faso have opposed the invasion plan and pledged their support to Niger. However, last Friday, ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs Abdel-Fatau Musah said ECOWAS general staff chiefs had agreed on the date of invasion in Niger but would not make it public.
