At least 61% of Tanzanians are happy with the government's policies, according to data from the Afrobarometer report by the Policy Research for Development (Repoa). The report conducted during 2021-2023 and released in August concentrated on five areas, including economy, rule of law, preferred form of governance, democracy, and trust in public institutions.According to it, Tanzanians expressed across-the-board backing for the current administration in: governance (64.9%), economy (60.5%), democracy and freedom of expression (66%), rule of law (81.5%) and public trust (73.6%).A whopping 82% of respondents approve of the government’s performance in addressing education needs, while 69% approve of the government’s provision of basic health services, Repoa Executive Director Dr. Donald Mmaristated. He added, however, that the study gives an indication that there are areas that the government needs to work on despite the fact that the population is largely happy in several other areas. The report further shows that Tanzanians are concerned with inflation and youth employment, but they remain optimistic about the direction of the country as far as the economy is concerned.

Samia Suluhu Hassan became the sixth president of the United Republic of Tanzania in 2021. Her government's economic reforms are reportedly aimed primarily at attracting investment, as well as helping to stimulate economic growth and employment. A new report has revealed how popular her policies are.
At least 61% of Tanzanians are happy with the government's policies, according to data from the Afrobarometer report by the Policy Research for Development (Repoa).
The report conducted during 2021-2023 and released in August concentrated on five areas, including economy, rule of law, preferred form of governance, democracy, and trust in public institutions.
According to it, Tanzanians expressed across-the-board backing for the current administration in: governance (64.9%), economy (60.5%), democracy and freedom of expression (66%), rule of law (81.5%) and public trust (73.6%).
A whopping 82% of respondents approve of the government’s performance in addressing education needs, while 69% approve of the government’s provision of basic health services, Repoa Executive Director Dr.
"There are some challenges, as evidenced by the survey findings, and we hope the relevant institutions will work on them," said the researcher on gender issues, Ms. Loreen Kiswagathe, as cited by media.
