Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to work on the creation of logistics hubs in Africa, as well as to adapt state support measures for the international North-South transport corridor, First Deputy Head Vasily Osmakov said in an interview with Sputnik.He also stressed that the ministry is discussing the possibility of creating a single trading company to enter the African market and generally considers this measure necessary for successful cooperation between the countries.During the second Russia–Africa Summit, representatives from the Russian Ministry of Transport discussed the development of cooperation in building infrastructure, namely ports, airports and railways with officials from Malawi and Burkina Faso. The event was attended by Russia's Deputy Transport Ministers Dmitry Zverev and Igor Chalik.

Russia Looks to Create Logistics Hubs in Africa
During the Second Russia–Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum held in St. Petersburg on July 27-28, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed opening a Russian transport and logistics center in one of the ports on the African east coast.
Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade intends to work on the creation of logistics hubs in Africa, as well as to adapt state support measures for the international North-South transport corridor, First Deputy Head Vasily Osmakov said in an interview with Sputnik.
He also stressed that the ministry is discussing the possibility of creating a single trading company to enter the African market and generally considers this measure necessary for successful
cooperation between the countries.
"Now, in general, the approach to foreign economic activity is being updated and rethought. I think that my colleagues from the Ministry of Economic Development and other ministries will try to work with Africa in this way [creating a trading company]. [...] I would even call this work a foreign economic startup. We plan to adapt support measures to the international North-South transport corridor and work on the creation of logistics hubs in Africa," Osmakov said.
