The yearly International ARMY Forum opened at the Patriot Russian Army Exhibition Park near Moscow on Monday. It will run from August 14 to 20, bringing together almost 1,500 Russian defense companies and 85 foreign companies.
Welcoming the growing number of military-industrial companies presenting their products at the
Army-2023 forum in Russia, President Vladimir Putin advocated cooperation in this field with countries that have opted for independent development in their national interests.
"Russia is open to deepening technological partnership and military-technical cooperation on an equal footing with all those who assert their national interests and independent development path. It believes that it is essential above all to build together an equal and indivisible security system that would safely protect every state," said the Russian president in his video message at the opening of the forum.
This year, more than 80 foreign military-industrial companies are presenting their products at the forum, compared with 32 last year, Putin said.
Developing Established Ties, Promoting New Ones
Putin expressed his desire to develop the ties already established, but also to build
new relations based on a long and successful experience of mutually advantageous partnerships.
"We are proposing to develop all-round cooperation, including the training of cadres and foreign military personnel, their continuing education, and the organization of joint staff training and other maneuvers," said Putin.
Partnership For Stability
According to the Russian President, strengthening military-technical
cooperation, "including state-of-the-art command and reconnaissance systems, high-precision weapons and robotics," will serve to reinforce security and stability.
"We expect that, as before, important export agreements and contracts will be signed on the sidelines of the forum. I'm sure that the forum will help strengthen military and military-technical partnership for the benefit of security and stability in a multipolar world in the making," he noted.
