Over 50% of Russians Say Sanctions Have No Effect on Their Lives, Poll Shows

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A majority of Russians think that the sanctions imposed on their country since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine have had no effect on them, a poll conducted by Russia's Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) showed on Thursday.
As many as 56% of Russians said that the sanctions imposed on the country since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine had not affected their personal lives and lifestyle, while 25% said their impact was not too hard. Only 14% said they had felt a strong impact of sanctions on their lives, Russia's Public Opinion Foundation (FOM)'s poll demonstrated.
The poll also found that the most salient effect of the sanctions was in terms of rising prices (18%), followed by product shortages and corporate pullout from Russia (7%), problems with going abroad (2%), and declining living standards (2%).

A total of 29% of those sampled said they believe the sanctions facilitate Russia's economic growth, while 24% think the opposite and 23% feel the sanctions have had no effect on the economy at all.
The survey was conducted from July 14-16, with 1,500 people from 104 cities and villages in 53 Russian regions taking part. The margin of error does not exceed 3.6%.
