Russian President Putin Presents State Awards to Special Op Participants in Kremlin

Putin presents state awards several times a year, traditionally in the Kremlin's St. Catherine Hall. The awards are usually medals of the Order of Merit for Services to the Fatherland of various degrees, which are awarded for specific and useful deeds for the country, for a great contribution to its defense.
Sputnik Africa goes live as Russian President Vladimir Putin takes part in a ceremony of presenting state awards in the Kremlin.
The highest state awards recognize the military personnel who have shown courage and heroism in carrying out combat missions during the special operation, as well as outstanding Russians in the fields of education and science, medicine and health care, culture, agriculture, and industry, the Kremlin's press service explained.
In addition, Putin can award diplomas and commendations, confer honorary titles.
